Alfouz Gamification App

An application for existing Alfouz account holders at Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait. The app gives customers additional rewards for keeping a balance in their Alfouz account. It does not change the customer's bank account or the Alfouz draw itself.

What the app does

The app rewards customers who keep a balance in their Alfouz account.

The rewards are given inside the app as spins, tier levels, and savings missions. The Alfouz draw at the bank continues as it is and is not changed by the app.

Keep a balance in the Alfouz account

The app reads the customer's current balance from the bank. Tier and savings missions are based on this balance.

02 · Earn spins

Top-ups, missions, and games give spins

Each top-up, completed savings mission, and daily game adds spins to the customer's in-app spin wallet.

03 · Win prizes

Use spins to win small prizes

The customer uses their spins inside the app to win vouchers (coffee, food, retail). The Alfouz draw at the bank is separate.

Account registration

An existing Alfouz holder creates an app login in six steps.

The customer's identity is verified through PACI. The bank account and the Alfouz account are not changed by this process. The app only creates a new login record linked to the existing bank customer.

Login and activation

The customer signs in with Civil ID and password.

On the first launch the app shows a 30-day window for the customer to add at least 200 KWD to their Alfouz account. This is the entry point to the Bronze tier. The customer can skip this screen and use the app later.

Adding money to the Alfouz account

The customer adds money to their Alfouz account through KNET.

The app sends the payment through KNET. The money goes directly to the customer's existing Alfouz account at the bank. The app does not hold any funds. After the payment, the new balance and the new tier are shown to the customer.

Dashboard, spin pools, and the spin wheel

The home screen shows the tier and balance. The customer uses spins to win small prizes.

There are four spin pools: Weekly, Monthly, Semi-Annual, and Annual. Each pool opens at a different tier. When the customer has a ready spin, they tap the pool to open the spin wheel and reveal the prize. The Alfouz draw at the bank is separate and is not affected.

Tiers and savings missions

The customer's tier is based on their current balance. Missions reward saving.

Tier levels
Savings missions

There are four tiers: Bronze at 200 KWD, Silver at 1,000 KWD, Gold at 5,000 KWD, and Platinum at 10,000 KWD. Each savings mission asks the customer to reach a target balance by a deadline. When a mission is completed, the customer receives extra spins.

Diraya — customer protection

A short daily question that teaches the customer how to avoid bank fraud.

Daily question

Diraya (دراية — awareness) shows the customer one short scenario each day. The scenario describes a common fraud attempt — for example, a stranger on social media asking for card details to “release” a prize. The customer chooses one of three answers and learns the correct response.

  • One scenario per day. Short and direct. Three-answer multiple choice, no typing.
  • Common fraud topics. Phishing, social engineering, fake prize messages, card-detail requests, OTP sharing.
  • One extra spin as a reward. A small in-app reward keeps customers engaged with the education.
  • Bilingual. Each question is available in both English and Arabic.

Diraya is a customer-protection feature. It puts daily, short anti-fraud education in front of every active customer, inside an app they already open. This is an explicit response to the Central Bank of Kuwait's expectations on consumer awareness.

More tab

There are three small daily games: Spot the Difference, Memory Match, and a knowledge quiz. Each game played gives one extra spin per day. The More tab shows the customer's profile, transactions, notifications, language settings, and read-only Alfouz draw information (winners, draw dates, prizes).

Identity

Identity is verified through PACI

The customer's identity is confirmed by PACI on every registration. The app does not decide identity by itself.

Boundary

The app does not change the bank account

The bank account and the Alfouz draw continue as they are. The app only reads the balance and gives in-app rewards.

Audit

Every step is logged

Each step (PACI verification, OTP, password, top-up, spin reveal) is recorded on the server with a session identifier.
